FULLERTON, CALIF. – The USC Trojans secured a 5-3 victory over the Cal State Fullerton Titans in a competitive game at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, California. The win improved USC’s season record to 7-1, while the Titans fell to 1-7.

Early Lead for USC
USC wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. In the first inning, Ethan Hedges and Kyle Higgins each hit a solo home run, giving the Trojans an early 2-0 lead. However, Cal State Fullerton responded in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double from Andrew Kirchner, making it 2-1.

Key Moments
The Trojans added two more runs in the third inning, extending their lead to 4-1. The Titans fought back in the sixth inning, taking advantage of a fielding error to bring in two unearned runs, cutting the deficit to 4-3.
USC sealed the game in the eighth inning when Mike Grudzielanek hit an RBI single, securing the final score at 5-3.
Pitching Performance
Garren Rizzo was a standout for USC, pitching four scoreless innings in relief to earn the win. Ethan Hedges also contributed on the mound, picking up his third save of the season.
