In a high-energy matchup at Citrus Gymnasium, the Citrus College Owls secured a dominant 87-57 win over the visiting LA Mission College Eagles on Saturday night. The Owls showcased balanced scoring, sharp shooting, and relentless defense to remain in control throughout the game. Breanna Escobedo led the charge for Citrus with a game-high 24 points, including five three-pointers, and eight assists, while teammate Leilani Argueta added 13 points and four steals.

Citrus started strong, outpacing LA Mission with a fast tempo and disciplined ball movement. By halftime, the Owls had built a comfortable 21-point lead, shooting 46.1% from the field and forcing 20 turnovers from the Eagles. While LA Mission’s Krystal Pineda put up a valiant effort with 27 points and 11 rebounds, the Eagles struggled to keep up with Citrus’s depth and efficiency. Contributions from reserves like Kristin Morella (16 points) and Deija Mitchell (10 rebounds) solidified the Owls’ dominance, particularly in the second half.
