The Bonita Varsity Bearcats delivered a commanding performance on Thursday, defeating the San Dimas Varsity Saints 17-0 in an away game. The game was highlighted by a strong offense and a solid pitching performance, as the Bearcats controlled the game from start to finish.
Skyy Hicks led the offensive charge for Bonita, demonstrating excellent patience at the plate by drawing three walks. The Bearcats opened the scoring in the second inning, as Leah Reynolds singled to bring in the first run. They followed that up with another run in the third inning when Laney Sweeney’s single down the right-field line brought in a run.

The top of the fifth inning was a standout moment, as Bonita erupted for five runs on five hits. Reynolds doubled to score one run, Audrey Garza singled for another, and Hicks contributed a two-run single. Mia Guerrero capped off the inning with a double, bringing in the final run of the frame.
The Bearcats continued to pile on the runs in the sixth inning, scoring five more times on three hits. Hicks singled for another RBI, an error brought in two more, and Skyler Lee’s single scored one run. Kiana Crawford also walked in a run to round out the inning.

On the mound, Serenity Reyes started for Bonita and was dominant, pitching four shutout innings. She allowed just three hits while striking out two and walking none. Skyler Lee came in as relief and also delivered an impressive performance, tossing three shutout innings, allowing one hit, and striking out four.
Bonita amassed a total of 18 hits in the game, with Guerrero leading the charge, going 3-for-4. Reynolds, Garza, Brianna Juarez, and Hicks each contributed multiple hits. The team showed excellent discipline at the plate, drawing 11 walks throughout the game.

The victory was a complete team effort, with Bonita showcasing solid hitting, pitching, and defense, including a double play. The Bearcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game on Tuesday when they travel to Diamond Bar.
