Los Alamitos, CA- Friday nights are usually associated with happy and fun times. However, this wasn’t the case for Crean Lutheran, who lost in the CIF semi-finals. On the other hand, Los Alamitos would be celebrating, as they would emerge victorious with the final score being 82-57.
Los Al would show their dominance throughout the whole game. With help from Samoir Guyness, who led the team with 19 points, just behind him was his fellow teammate Wesley Trevina, who had 10 rebounds. Going into halftime, Los Alamitos would have the lead 40-28. After the break, Los Alamitos continued to show dominance, scoring 9 out of the 11 possessions they had. The score finished the third quarter at 60-42. Now, entering the final quarter, Crean tried to come alive, but Los Alamitos’ pressure was simply too much.
The Griffins will now face Mira Costa in the CIF championship game. This will be Los Alamitos’s first trip to the finals in 18 years, and it will have high stakes. How will the Griffins prove that they are worthy of completing at such a high level.
